Valve jackets insulate valves, check valves, strainers in steam lines and on the other hand it prevents condensation on cold lines so extends working life. Valve jacket’s surface temperature must be between 15°C and 50°C according to ambient temperature.
The most important issue in valve jackets which used in ships and boiler rooms is that the outer layer of the fabric has to be 100% air-tight because; situated fuel vapor can easily penetrate into insulation needle mat and can instantly burst in to flames.
